About Pop Culture Monster / Staff

Pop Culture Monster has rolled out some changes, one of them being some new contributors. You can find all the info on the staff of Pop Culture Monster here. Any questions, drop us a line at the emails you find below.

The Team

Editors:

Ciarán Reinhardt

ciaran@popculturemonster.com

Co-founder, editor, head writer.

Ciarán studied music, English and media and decided he wanted to be a journalist somewhere in between. To the surprise of many around him, he recently discovered he’s somewhat of a geek. He loves all things pop culture but his main passion is music and television. He can often be found scouting MySpace for new music, writing copious amounts of e-mail and playing piano. He loves beat ‘em up games, and is surprisingly very good. He is often too honest.

Ian Cummins

ian@popculturemonster.com

Co-founder, editor, head writer.

Ian studied German and English before deciding to become a journalist. He is a Whedon fanatic and can name almost every Buffy episode and can recite a lot line by line. He has a head for names, especially actors. Even the obscure ones. He loves film and television, but his main interest is in gaming. His gaming poison is FPS and RPG.

Senior Contributors:

Leona O’Hanlon

Leona studied English and sociology in college but always knew she wanted to write. She writes mostly fiction and poetry, but is willing to try her hand at anything. She loves music and all things nerdy. She has promised herself to watch more television and listen to more current music, but it’s as yet unknown whether she has been successful.

Contributors:

Kevin O’Neill

Kevin is a music fanatic. He writes for his own music blog, for his college magazine, and now for Pop Culture Monster. His loves are alternative music and going to gigs but has yet to be won over by Zola Jesus. He can often be seen at music festivals around Ireland and is a regular at the Marquee in Cork.

Richard Duffy

Richard studied music and philosophy before turning his hand to journalism. He’s now studying journalism and writes mostly film reviews. He was Vice-President of the Maynooth Students’ Union where he ran the college magazine among other things. He has a ridiculously large DVD collection that would put Xtra Vision to shame.

Sarah Griffin

Sarah divides her time between Galway (where she studies for her MA in Creative Writing) and Dublin (where she hails from, where she works). She has her finger in so many pies, even we can’t keep up. She runs or helps run some really successful nights around Dublin including Scarleh Fer Yer Ma Fer Havin’ Ya and Milk & Cookie Stories. She’s an avid gamer of all things game and loves nothing more than a good Fringe Festival or Poetry Slam. Her only pair of heels are signed by Amanda Palmer.

Previous Contributors:

Sarah Elliot

Sarah is studying to become an artist. She loves all things Whedon, especially the curse words. She’s a regular blogger and all round geek. She put her video game playing on hiatus and never has the nerve for high stress games anymore since Bruce Campbell shouted at her from the Evil Dead menu screen for taking too long to hit enter.

Linda Connolly:

Linda studied digital media and astrophysics before joining Pop Culture Monster. She loves television and gaming. She is a talented guitar and ukulele player. She sings too! She loves nothing more than a good music festival. She currently develops websites and makes a mean crepe.
